The Internship Program at Hafenbrack Marketing & Public Relations is a combination of real work experience and education. We continue to look for talented, enthusiastic interns who are eager to learn. Our program allows students to develop transferable skills that will make them an asset to any employer. Some of our interns are now graduates and full-time employees on the Hafenbrack team!

Student Requirements Include:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Major within the Management, Business, Marketing, Communications or Creative field.
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior status within the University.

Other Details

  1. Monday through Friday for 15 to 40 hours each week
  2. Possibility to split hours between 2 interns
  3. Hours flexible around school schedule
  4. Paid position

Job Description - Marketing

Marketing Internship

Hafenbrack Marketing & Public Relations is seeking an intern interested in learning about all aspects of marketing. While interning at Hafenbrack, interns can expect to work on projects for clients in a variety of industries. Interns will work alongside and support the account management and design teams on projects and initiatives for a variety of clients in the healthcare, education, technology and manufacturing industries.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the direct-mail and telemarketing program for prospective clients which includes:
    • Mailing a series of five case study postcards and a final mailing packet
    • Following up with phone calls to recipients of the postcards to ensure receipt and gauge their interest
    • Maintaining an Excel database of mailing progress and phone call outcomes, alerting account executives of the weekly status and any leads

Other Responsibilities

  1. Assisting with projects needing completion by other members of the Hafenbrack team:
    • Web and print research of miscellaneous information ranging from gathering articles for press releases to looking up online advertising information
    • Copywriting, proofreading and editing
    • List development using sources such as salesgenie.com
    • Putting together printed pieces such as mailers, folders, brochures
    • Mailing letters and packages to current and potential clients
    • Setting up the conference room for meetings
    • General reception work

Skills and Training Provided by Hafenbrack

  1. Coordination of mail campaigns, including follow up phone calls
  2. Web stat tallying and Google analytics analysis for clients
  3. News Release Development while working with the Public Relations Director
  4. Media Relations Training while working with the Public Relations Director
  5. Website Content Management System Training

Job Description – Public Relations

Public Relations Internship

Hafenbrack Marketing & Public Relations is seeking an intern interested in learning all aspects of public relations. Interns will have the opportunity to learn the public relations business at a marketing agency getting to know how the media works and supporting the Public Relations team on a variety of clients in the healthcare, education, technology and manufacturing industries.

Primary Responsibilities

    • Monitoring all forms of traditional and social media for clients and relevant industries
    • Researching potential speaking opportunities for clients
    • Writing press materials including news releases, FAQs, blogs and more
    • Tracking and recording media clips for clients
    • Learning to create media databases
    • Developing content for social media communities
    • Assisting with agency marketing initiatives


Desired Qualifications

    • Enthusiastic and eager about getting real world public relations experience
    • Familiarity with social media tools as they apply to marketing and public relations
